This is a closed session for Local Authority Chief Executives, Deputy Chief Executives, Section 151 Officers & and Monitoring Officers only.

The Local Government Association has been working with Solace, CIPFA and Lawyers in Local Government to draft a framework setting out the many checks and balances which support local authorities’ accountability to their communities and beyond.
Over the summer a first draft was consulted on through discussions with professional bodies and councils across the country. This session will provide a first opportunity to consider a revised version which responds to that feedback and to consider the next steps. What would better help councils - and their Chief Executives, S151 officers and Monitoring Officers – to gain and provide assurance of key aspects of their performance?
