The British Heart Foundation is the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK. We fund around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They're all connected, and they're all under our microscope.
As well as this medical research we are also dedicated to producing work aimed at shaping public policy and raising public awareness of heart and circulatory diseases and their risk factors. Our mission is to end heartbreak by preventing heart and circulatory conditions from developing and we want those living with existing conditions to have better and longer lives, from every new-born baby with a heart condition to elderly people living with Dementia.
Our work includes everything from life saving research and medical treatment, rehabilitation and support both for the people who need treatment and the loved ones who are supporting them. We are working across the UK to train in CPR, deliver defibs, educate, raise awareness and understand more about the heart and what keeps it healthy.
The BHF has been around for over 60 years, and we’ve made a great start, but we still have a long way to go. Hearts are precious and by donating funds to the British Heart Foundation you can help us power the research that helps protect yours if something goes wrong.
